For My Friends

“Friendship isn’t about who you’ve known the longest. It’s about who came, stayed by your side, and never left you when you needed someone the most.” -Unknown. God has blessed me with so many friends that demonstrate the love of Jesus. My prayer for you, as you read this, is not only that you have this deep kind of friendship, but that you also know Jesus Christ, who makes this kind of forever-friendship possible.

You’re a true friend, always real;
A real friend, forever true.
A gift from God, my sister in Christ-
I can see Jesus in you.

It’s the way our hearts are knit together;
Knowing we’ll be friends forever.
The laughter, singing, and crying too.
God sent me love, when He sent me you.

It’s the love you show when saying hard things-
Words that heal, can sometimes sting.
Restoring me to the way that’s right,
Pointing me back to Jesus Christ.

It’s the peace you have in every trial,
The way you always make me smile.
The joy you share in all you do;
Faithful sister, I love you!

Life with you is never boring!
Such a blessing every day.
It’s an honor to bring you before our Father
As I remember you and pray.

The Daily War

The new day begins,
I breathe in deep.
My mind awakes
From dream-filled sleep.
I blink my eyes,
It’s time for war.
We’ll see which side
I’m living for.

Minute by minute, day by day, I die.
In the moments faced with temptation, I cry
To the One who gives power to overcome the lie
That I am a failure.
Choosing to put my will aside
My thoughts and desires that don’t abide
In the One whose love is so deep and wide
That I cannot live without it.

There’s no end in sight
To the battle with sin.
Win or lose,
I must fight again.
The cross is calling-
Surrender your life!
Because you have been
Crucified with Christ.

Minute by minute, day by day, I die.
In the moments faced with temptation, I cry
To the One who gives power to overcome the lie

My thoughts and desires that don’t abide
In the One whose love is so deep and wide
That I cannot live without it.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Matthew 16:24-26
